Our interdisciplinary team of engineers, industrial designers and research scientists is flexible and innovative, working together across continents and time-zones, and consolidated in two areas: Vancouver, Canada, and Tel Aviv/Jerusalem, Israel. 

 

Our senior researchers hold positions in a wide range of fields from evolutionary biology to cellular physiology, and have backgrounds Science, Engineering and Medicine. Our team of engineers and scientists have experience in areas including Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Computer Engineering and Engineering Physics, as well as Bioinformatics, Statistics and Animal Husbandry.

Our highly experienced and diverse team enables us to innovate, create and push the boundaries for the next generation of 3D-printed protective equipment and companion devices.

Jamie Magrill

Chief Executive Officer

Jamie Magrill completed his HonBSc from the University of British Columbia in 2018, with a focus on cancer and diabetes research, and is now completing an MSc in Biomedicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. With seven years of biomedical research experience, and six years of volunteer leadership in student services, healthcare, adaptive aquatics and STEM teaching and outreach, Jamie comes to the table with a wide variety of experiences and skills that enable him to empower and guide people and projects to achieve their best results; helping the people who help make the world a better place.

Ina Na

Chief Operating Officer

Ina Na grew up in Greater Vancouver and graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BSc in Biology and a minor in Health and Society. She went on to join the Keeling Lab at the University of British Columbia where she is currently pursuing an accelerated MSc to PhD program. During her undergraduate studies, Ina’s passion for research grew through the roles she took on at the National Microbiology Laboratory, BC Centre for Disease Control, and National Research Council. Having previously worked as a Medical Office Assistant and served on a variety of undergraduate committees, Ina values building relationships and working with collaborators. During her spare time, Ina enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing sports, and exploring new hobbies or projects.

Robert Wosk

Chief Financial Officer

Robert Wosk graduated in 2017 from the University of British Columbia with a BA, majoring in Economics and minoring in Commerce. He has previously worked as a Senior Financial Advisor at Scotiabank and currently works as a Credit Analyst at Scotiabank. Robert brings over 10 years of experience working and volunteering in the financial industry, as well as a tenure as treasurer of a student-led organization during his university days.

Leon Kalantaro

Chief Engineer

Leon Kalantaro is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Tel Aviv, Israel. Leon currently serves as Chief Engineer for DECAP, and brings 7+ years of 3D printing and engineering design experience to the table, including work with a number of previous start-up companies in Israel.

Pnina Grossman

Design Engineer

Dr. Diego Botezelli, PhD

Technical Advisor and User Experience Consultant

Dr. Botezelli holds a PhD in Metabolism and Endocrine Physiology and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Botezelli brings more than 10 years of experience in biomedical research, startups, and animal husbandry and handling techniques to our team.

Leanne Beet

Technical Advisor and User Experience Consultant

Peter Overby, MSc

Technical Advisor and User Experience Consultant

Peter completed his BSc and MSc at the University of Copenhagen and is currently pursing a PhD at the University of British Columbia. Peter has a wide berth of experience in animal husbandry and animal care techniques, and brings an innovative and analytical mindset to the team.

Arielle Hochberg

Arielle was born in New Zealand, lived most of her life in Australia, and had a passion for science and especially the complexities of the brain from a young age. She completed a BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Sydney and studied for her MSc at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Biomedical Science, focusing on Neurobiology and Immunology. Arielle brings more than 5 years of laboratory and clinical experience to our team as a coordinator and grants writer on multiple projects.

Alejandro Guerrero

Alejandro Guerrero is an Industrial Engineer from Mexico, currently living in BC, Canada and completing a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Douglas College in International Supply Chain Management. Alejandro has more than 10 years of experience in manufacturing processes for automotive, aerospace industries, and healthcare institutions in Mexico as well as experience growing his own startups and businesses from concept to profit.

Aahana Kanyal

Aahana Kanyal is a Biomedical Engineering student at the University of British Columbia specializing in the stream of Cellular Bioengineering. Making healthcare affordable to low-income communities is something she is incredibly passionate about and is striving to make that dream come true. With DECAP, Aahana is conducting research to explore the prevalence of needlestick injuries in the workplace and is collaborating with various stakeholders to quantify the frequency and severity of these incidents. In her free time, you can find Aahana hiking, reading and cracking lame scientific puns.

Atishay Jay

Atishay Jay is a third-year Biomedical Engineering student at the University of British Columbia specializing in cellular bioengineering. He is very passionate about solving challenging problems faced in the health care industry – prominently in Neurology, where he hope to research and develop potential cures for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s. His hobbies include hiking, snowboarding and reading a good novel when he has the time.

Arkady Gerasimuk

Arkady is in his 3rd year, studying BSc Mechanical Engineering at the Afeka Engineering College of Tel-Aviv, Israel. He is specializing in Robotics and Mechatronics and Automotive Systems, and also has experience in 3D printing and modeling in SolidWorks. In his spare time, he enjoys basketball and surfing. Arkady is a fast learner and likes to discover new things. He is very happy to be one of our team members, learn and help out in the engineering field.

Japnit Bhatia

Japnit is a recent graduate from the University of British Columbia, with a BSc specializing in Life Science, Chemistry and Earth and Ocean Science. She brings her extensive interpersonal and leadership skills, scientific background, and research experience in infectious diseases research to this team. She is passionate about public health and wants to insure individuals, as well as organizations, are well protected during this difficult time. She hopes to educate more people about proper PPE and provide insight into how DECAP and our products can help people improve safety in their workplace.

Rae Llorente

Rae is in her final year of studying Biology with a minor in Psychology in the University of British Columbia. 
She is very passionate about learning new things and finding ways to foster a sense of community.
Before joining DECAP, Rae served as the Executive Area President of the Marine Drive Residence Association (MDRA) where she along with her fellow council members created programs designed to enhance the student residence experience. 
She is also an intern for CREST.BD where she helps create social media content in an effort to decrease stigma surrounding mental health illnesses and make scientific research accessible to the public. 
In her spare time, she enjoys baking treats, reading books, watching documentaries  and volunteering in a hospital. 

Hugo Dignoes Ricart

Sharon Low

Sharon Low is a third year Applied Animal Biology student at the University of British Columbia, and hopes to minor in French this coming year. She is passionate in helping animals and giving back to her community. In addition, Sharon was involved in many opportunities that have helped improve her leadership skills for the past few years and has immensely lifted her confidence ever since. You will often find her baking new recipes, watching puppy videos, or working at a pet store called Bosley’s in Richmond.
